Software Engineer and Consultant

Building SaaS products under my own name, and available for client engagements.

I design and ship products end to end, from specification through to production. Each one is specified before it's built, which is what makes it possible to hand most of the implementation to AI agents and still keep the architecture coherent.

• Building two multi-tenant SaaS products end to end: Tebani Craft, where a house's finish date is derived from job durations and dependencies rather than stored, and Site Hero Check, contractor compliance built on a QR code at the site gate with no app and no account for the tradie.
• Each product is specified before it is built — a glossary fixing the domain's vocabulary, numbered architecture decision records that name the alternative rejected and why, and a locked MVP spec that tickets are cut from.
• The work runs on a published library of around thirty-five agent skills for Claude Code, covering domain modelling, decision records, spec-to-tickets planning, test-driven implementation and code review, installed once across every project.

Senior Software Engineer

One of Australia's largest online beauty retailers. Laravel platform behind its ecommerce, content and search systems.

I was the backend lead and full-stack engineer on the platform. I owned the API layer, the search and content pipelines, and the payments integrations, and I set technical direction for the squad through design reviews and RFCs while mentoring other engineers.

• Architected the Magento to BigCommerce migration, designing Laravel REST APIs to orchestrate data across Magento, Solr, Contentful and BigCommerce for a zero-downtime cutover on a high-traffic retail platform.
• Built the GraphQL API in Laravel serving both web and mobile clients, cutting over-fetching across product, content and account endpoints.
• Split the frontend out of the monolith with a headless Vue.js architecture and custom REST APIs, enabling independent deploy cycles.
• Designed the Contentful rich content model and wired it to Algolia and Laravel APIs, so the content team could publish editorial pages without engineering.
• Delivered a real-time product sync pipeline into Solr, improving search relevance and page speed at scale.
• Integrated Braintree, Afterpay, Klarna, gift certificates, store credit and Braintree Valet.
• Introduced TDD with PHPUnit across the backend and set coverage standards that brought production incident rates down.
• Run the platform on Laravel Vapor with PostgreSQL, Redis caching and SQS queues, monitored with CloudWatch and Sentry.

I led ecommerce delivery end to end, owning solution design, architecture decisions and code standards from Melbourne while running an offshore development team in Manila.

• Owned the Salesforce CRM integration over REST API across both client platforms.
• Managed and mentored the Manila team through Jira, coordinating several concurrent projects without losing production stability.
• Diagnosed and fixed critical production performance bottlenecks, improving response times and reducing server load.

Lead Magento Developer

Enterprise ecommerce consultancy. Clients: Cochlear, Harvey Norman, Dick Smith, Aesop, Pacific Brands (Bonds, Sheridan, Hush Puppies).

I built custom Magento systems for large retailers, most of them integration-heavy: ERP, CRM, POS, fraud and payments.

• Delivered Cochlear's global Magento platform with REST integrations to ERP, Salesforce and Cybersource, supporting international commerce.
• Built Harvey Norman's Order Management System, a custom Magento module routing orders to the best store by proximity and inventory, integrated with SAP and POS through DataHub.
• Led the Joyce Mayne migration onto Magento, writing automated scripts to move every order, product and customer off the legacy Storefront platform.
• Built the Fraud Management System module on Accertify, automating pre-fulfilment fraud checks on all orders.
• Launched Dick Smith's redesigned cart and checkout in AngularJS on the Fluency project.
• Implemented multi-tenant federated search across Bonds, Sheridan and Hush Puppies, with isolated store config and data in one shared codebase.
